Welcome to
Alternative Angling........
or my way of coarse fishing By Steve Cottrell
Registered Coach
My name is Steve, age 67 and I have been fishing on and off for about 50 odd years.
I live on the Wirral, Merseyside and fish a number of local day ticket waters with my mate Ken.
I have developed this web site purely to give readers a different point of
view on pleasure angling.
_____________
I am not saying that my way is the right way, far from it, (but I think it is) the right way is your way, the way you are happy with.
Also I would like to tell you how I fish but more importantly
why I am dong it that way.
You see the Matt Hayes`s and John Wilson`s of this world on TV
saying they have a 12" hook length on a feeder but they never tell you why
it`s 12" and not 4" or 6"
_____________
You must remember that fishing is nearly always guesswork
Nobody has ever interviewed a fish to find out what it wants
I think the nearest you can get is logic
and that is the way I try to work
______________
I believe there are more than 100 ways to improve your fishing.
One of the main ones is the saying
"Near enough is not good enough".
If you get many of them right and it might just give you the edge
_______________
You will not find any pictures on these pages
I`m getting a bit fed up at looking at anglers holding up big fish,
If you want to look at pictures they are on the Gallery page.
______________
I would just like to add that this web site is always being updated
as I will be adding points of interest as I come across them.
